Local Business Spotlight
Boulder Outlook Hotel is a locally owned and operated facility, dedicated to reflecting the values and essence of Boulder. The hotel was “recreated” in 2002 into a unique, affordably-priced hotel whose personality and energy embodies the Boulder spirit. The hotel was redesigned with bold colors, a chlorine free pool, indoor rock climbing, and a venue for local and national blues musicians. In 2007, the Boulder Outlook Hotel embarked on a new adventure, becoming the community’s first Zero Waste Hotel. The decision to become environmentally responsible was a natural outgrowth of a business culture that values people and the environment as much as any other component of a successful commercial venture. In becoming “zero waste,” the Boulder Outlook has set the bar for how hotels can be environmental leaders in their community. According to owner Dan King, “When we started many of these programs, we did so because we thought it was the ‘right thing to do’. But we have found that the market supported these efforts! Since beginning our zero waste programs, we have seen a dramatic increase in business directly related to environmental initiatives. It turned out that not only was it the ‘right thing to do’, it was also the best business decision that we could have made!” In 2008, the owners of Boulder Outlook Hotel decided to recreate their restaurant into “Blues & Greens,” an environmentally sustainable restaurant highlighting local-based foods and incorporating vegetarian dishes into the menu. The café features regular live blues music; hence the name, “Blues & Greens.” Dan invites Boulder Independent Business Alliance members to schedule their conferences and workshops at the Boulder Outlook Hotel, for a truly unique Boulder experience. There is a variety of conference and meeting spaces to fit your needs, and special event menus are available at a discount to BIBA members. Call or email Dan at the hotel, dking@boulderoutlook.com or 720-974-7774. He will be happy to create a customized plan for your next gathering. Posted in: NoneShare: Twitter, Facebook |
